I'm trying to get my server up and running and before I do that I need to make sure all plugins are how I want them, including Towny. I'm in the config files and I'm trying to change how plots are generated, because at the moment they are generated as chunks (16x16 plots) and it's very annoying because I want room for a road between the plots and I don't want plots to be so smushed together. I've been trying to days to figure it all out, and I just can't find out what to do. Any help would be great and much much appreciated.
If you need to see the config files I'm using I'll gladly post them.
(And in a side note, if anybody knows how to fix it so that towns don't physically despawn when they are deleted or disbanded, that would be great!)

To add on to what Carbonawk said, you have to change the revert_on_unclaim both in the config.yml (Towny/settings/config.yml) and the world.txt (Towny/data/worlds/[Worldname].txt). I made the mistake of only using the config.yml, and had to do a rollback to repair someone's town.
In the world.txt, it's called something else: usingPlotManagementDelete & usingPlotManagementRevert
I may also suggest setting the mob explosions reverting wild land to false. (It's under revert_on_unclaim in the config.yml, I don't remember the exact phrasing, and it's usingPlotManagementWildRegen in the world.txt). You don't have to, but I had a player on my server point out that you could have (for example) a netherwart farm (not claimed by a town), and use tnt to blow it up. It drops the netherwart, then regenerates, so you can get nether wart to sell/use.
I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're after, but you can adjust the size of town blocks in the config.yml. ( town_block_size: '16' )

I was trying to get Towny to stop reverting someone's town when they deleted it. I had the revert_on_unclaim in the config.yml and all similar things set to false. (Yes, I had tried restarting the server, stopping the server, changing it, starting it). The only thing that was able to get it to work was the world.txt. (I didn't change anything in the config.yml between it not working and changing the world.txt).
If you haven't had to do this, it may have been something on my end. I suggest that Britbean at least test to make sure it works after editing the config.yml, though.
