I am getting the error
io.netty.channel.abstractchannel$annotatedconnectexception: connection timed out: no further information
now I had a server working, and recently moved, I upgraded my internet to a high speed, and I have already tried disabling every firewall I got, I have doublechecked the port forwarding numerous times, I have checked the server on
https://dinnerbone.com/minecraft/tools/status/
and it comes back that it responds and even shows the welcome message, but I cannot connect from my other computer, on the same network as the server, the server is run from another machine on my network, had no issues prior, and I have even tried to put the server box IP in the DMZ to see if it would connect, and no go, can anyone help bc every google search I have done has led me no where...
if you are on the same network make sure you are using the internal ip not your external ip
I use NO-IP, and it sayings cannot connect to server when I use the DNS address guardia.ddns.net:25566, but when I changed it to the internal IP I get cannot resolve hostname, I always used the DNS name before, with no issue
then your issue is with your internal network
and from my internal network(the modem provided from XFinity), I have fully disabled all firewalls, placed the server box in the DMZ, and still unable to connect, the port forwarding is setup correctly, I just cannot seem to get connected
What about your router or is it a combo?
I don't have a router, I ONLY have the xfinity Modem, which was provided for my internet, it has two Ethernet connections, one connection is going to my main PC, the other is going to my server box
so it is a modem/router then or combo try using your internal ip addresses
can someone help please
Can't give you any more information than already have Timed out is where the connection is not fast enough as you said you are hosting it local then it seems to be an issue with your home network and we cant help you with that
