me and a friend have been playing on a world for quite some time now. The server (I hosted) would never pop up in his multiplyer tab and we would always use direct connect to play. About two days fter the update direct connect no longer works and it comes up with the message: io.netty.channel.ConnectTimeoutException: connection timed out:
We already tried fire wall, its set to private and public for both java binary and minecraft windows 10 while his firewall is completely turned off (Uses mac). Please if somebody can help, we've put so much time into this world and really hope we don't lose it.
Thanks for the reply! What I meant by "lose" was that we stop playing the game (because of this problem) and basically lose the world to time. We both have 1.12, updated our laptops at the same time and I no longer have any antivirus software so that shouldn't be causing it. Ill turn off the firewall and see if it works.
I used another laptop on the same lan and got the same thing. request time out. If this means its being blocked by malware or antivirus then how can I locate the source of the block? Again thanks a lot, I know that you don't have to do this.

Yeah this didnt work either /:
Okay we tried it and this it what came up
Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
This message continued to pop up except the zero would go up by 1 on every line.
Does this mean that he failed to connect to my ip address?
