I'm trying to run a private server for a private resource pack that I'm testing on a private map.
I've uploaded my resource pack to Media Fire, added the URL to resource-pack: and its not auto downloading it when I accept the resource pack option when i join the server.
When I look at the server properties the link has been changed from
It seems that the download button page on mediafire constantly changes the download link the button leads to, you should try to find a platform with an actual direct download link that is kept static.
also the problem you are talking abou the link changing in server properties, I am not sure what 1.10 and after have changed, but my guess is that the server now guesses the protocol it needs to use automatically, try removing the http:// part of the link and see if it works.
Minecraft servers can now use a more effective method of loading resource packs using the sha1 digest to check if the player should redownload the resource pack or keep the downloaded one.
Check out that link I posted. I was trying to help another guy with the same problem, and had him try everything you said. The only new thing I noticed is this option called "resource-pack-sha1". So perhaps it needs a hash now?

Am I doing something wrong?
I'm thinking there is something new that we need. Check out this thread:http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/server-support/2812251-server-resource-pack-not-loading
Browsing for texture packs? Why not try some of mine?

@Tassadar100, @purplepigjr
Nope, apparently I was using the page link instead of the direct download link for Mediafire lol. Thanks for the help.
