Hey all, noob question here, and I am not all that familiar with the command line, java or AWS so be gentle.
I set up a pretty vanilla Minecraft server on AWS EC2 for my kids and their friends to use. I have my .pem file store locally and am connecting to the AWS server via terminal. At that point I enter that bizarre "java -Xmx1024M......" command and the server fires up and all is well.
What I don't understand is why I can't close Terminal, power off my Mac, and go about my business while the Minecraft server runs on AWS on its own. Is there a way to make this totally self contained and still run Minecraft server? I don't know of any other application that *requires* two separate machines to run constantly, so I assume this is one of those "everyone knows but me" things. Please help!

Oops, and just that quickly I found the answer in another form. Sorry for the noise!
