Hey, I have been working on making a server on my new Ubuntu(Linux) laptop, and I have followed every single step for Linux on https://www.spigotmc.org/wiki/spigot-installation/, with two resolved errors that have been fixed.
Anyway, I followed the instructions above, did everything, and did the last step, where I ran chmod +x start.sh in the terminal and then ./start.sh, which set up and ran the server for the first time, and was was supposed to mark the actual file as executable(As in, whenever I run/double click it, it automatically runs the terminal for the server).
But whenever I double click/run the file, all it does is open a text file in gitbit! I have tried going into properties and changing it to "Allow running as executable" and looking for the terminal application to run it with(Which I didn't find)!
