I'm trying to allocate more RAM towards a forge server. What I did was create a .bat file, copy and pasted the command needed to start up the server, and saved it to run the server (I've made sure that the .jar file name was correct). At 1024M, the server starts up like normal. I tried changing the allocation to 3000M to add 3GB to the server. A window flashes and nothing else happens. Making sure I did it right, I changed it to 2000M for 2GB instead, same results. After that, I tried increasing the allocation by increments 10MB every time I start the server. I managed to get to 1090M allocation, after 1090, the server will not start up.
I currently have 32GB of DDR4 RAM in the PC, there are no big tasks running while I am running the server. All other tasks like my browser is closed.
Add "pause" on a new line at the end of the batch file so you can see what error(s) it is throwing before the window closes then let us know what it says.

Alright, I've added pause at the end. This what I get now since the window stays open.
"Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for 2097152KB object heap"
Ooo... just Java 64Bit? Nothing else needed? How much can I allocate with 64Bit?
Thank you very much. If I'm running a modded server with currently 10 mods, how much RAM should I use to ensure stability?
Why is it usually counterproductive?
Alright, I understand now. Thank you.
