Hi! I am currently running a pixelmon server on my own computer which has 12 gb of ram.
My server is laggy for myself and the 2 other people playing on it. The pokemon are moving like they are teleporting and blocks take a while to get after mining. Our pings to the server (including myself) are significantly high and it shows. My ping is high to my own server. I use Forge 1.8.9 to play pixelmon 1.8.9.
This is the command line I use in the run.bat to start the server:
@echo off
java -server -d64 -Xincgc -Xmx2048M -jar mcforge.jar
pause
I am using 2gb of ram for the server which is what I was told is all that is needed to run a pixelmon server. I have tried adding 8gb, 7gb, and so on and we still get the same lag.
I periodically get messages in the server logs along the lines of this:
[Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 2600ms behind, skipping 52 tick(s)
[Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 2739ms behind, skipping 54 tick(s)
I have changed the map before just to make sure no one built a lag machine, but that helped none.
Everyone can connect to the server. I have hosted many servers before and they worked perfectly on my internet.
My question is, how can I fix this massive ping spike and lag issue on my server?
When I add more ram to the bat I see no difference than before. Even after adding 2 more gb the lag still is the same. I have ran plenty of servers before with no problem such as Ark and Bukkit. I also see no difference with or without my friends on the server. I think I may have something in the parameters screwed up or something.

Look up java arguments for forge and see what matches your hardware and server also for modded minecraft 4Gb is a good starting point

what java argumets have you added to your start up script have you doubled checked they match your hardware?
How do I make sure they match my hardware? I have 12gb of RAM so Im pretty sure 4gb is not a problem... This is my run.bat:
@echo off
java -server -d64 -Xincgc -Xmx2048M -jar mcforge.jar
pause
Your CPU may be the issue.
I have an Intel Core i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07 GHz, 3068 Mhz, 4 Cores, 8 Logical Proccessors
