Hi there. I'm currently running a minecraft server that is being hosted by MCProHosting. The server is on the dirt plan right now which has 512MB of RAM available to use. I keep getting the following error when my friends and I are on the server and was wondering what I could do to fix it.
15.07 18:14:54 [Server] Server thread/WARN Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 6057ms behind, skipping 121 tick(s)
15.07 18:14:34 [Server] Server thread/WARN Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 4464ms behind, skipping 89 tick(s)
15.07 18:14:19 [Server] Server thread/WARN Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 5383ms behind, skipping 107 tick(s)
15.07 18:14:06 [Server] Server thread/WARN Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 9554ms behind, skipping 191 tick(s)

15.07 18:12:06 [Server] Server thread/WARN Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 2780ms behind, skipping 55 tick(s)
This was just a couple of the errors and I do get more. I was wondering if adding more RAM would help since the CPU they have on the server are very nice CPU's. I was also thinking of switching to a host that provided more RAM for cheaper but on a not as good CPU, but the CPU is still decent on the host I was thinking of switching to.

Hello,
Actually believe or not but their "fat" CPUs are not as good as you think they are.. Here is why..
The top reason they use those dual CPUs is that each machine can be fitted with up to 256GB... That's up to 512 Minecraft servers on a single machines. Yikes!
With that high servers to machine ratio you BARELY have enough CPU for yourself and ho yea Minecraft cannot use more than a single core at a time. Making this even worst for you in the end.
In short opt in a E3v2/v3/v5 instead. Those CPUs are MUCH better for Minecraft servers and the provider cannot put SO MANY server on each of these smaller machines. So make the switch and you should be better off.

That error you are receiving right there is caused by not having enouph ram to supply the current needs, NOT a cpu bottleneck, while yes minecraft can use a lot of cpu it will only ever use 1-2 cores if it even supports that,
TL;DR Dont switch to a worse host, just get more ram on the host your own currently, since, cheaper hosting = more people on it, more people on it = more shared cpu and on top of that worse cpu's
Even shorter TL;DR: Dont leave hosts - Just get more ram, not worth it

Actually you're partly wrong...
An E3v1-v3 can ONLY support up to 32GB while a v5 can go up to 64GB. Which is FRACTION of what MCPRO nodes holds (256GB). Just go anywhere that charges reasonably for what you get and you should be in the clear. Creeperhost in particular is ROCK solid with nearly everything they offer.
