I've been playing in my minecraft realms server and all of the sudden the last couple of days I've experienced enormous amounts of lag. I decided to track my network usage through Activity Monitor on my mac and I saw that the received packets went from 100 to 60,000-80,000 in less than a minute of playing. I went from 5 bars to 2 bars and it was unplayable. Also I was tracking my internet speed through spedtest.net and as soon as I entered my server, my download and upload speed went from 10mbps to .03mbps. My first thought was that I had reached my internet cap but when I opened netflix or hulu I was able to watch a movie without any problems.
If anyone knows a solution to this problem, I will appreciate your help!
Update: I completely deleted minecraft and reinstalled it and now its all good. I am still getting high number of received packets (I assume this is normal), but there isn't any lag!
