As the title says, I don't know how to change it back to the default Java program. I have Java up to date, I have Win.rar, and I know how to port forward, I just need to run the minecraft_server.1.10 as what it's supposed to be, and I don't know how to change it back. Is there anyway I can get this fixed easily?
Uhhh... How exactly do I do that in a very simple way to read? (I also didn't have the Java option in my list even though I did the proper steps to install it. I have Windows 10 Home 64 Bit.)
Well, to make the .jar file open with Java again, right click it, and click properties:
(disregard the other files, I've already run this server)
In the window that pops up, click on "Change":
In the window that pops up, click "More Apps", and select Java:
Click OK, and then click Apply, and OK in the window that it goes back to.
Now it should be back to a Java-executable file.
About your run.bat, when you save it, you need to remove the .txt extension it adds on.
Or, if you can't get that to work, you can just use my run.bat file, attached at the below link. (All it contains is the commands I posted above. If you don't trust me, and I don't blame you if you don't - I don't trust random files either, you can right click it and click "Edit" to see the code)
So I think I messed up somewhere? Because I don't know where to run that as a Java(TM)... I don't know why exactly, I reinstalled Java and restarted my PC just to be sure, but it's still this. I managed to change the run.bat though, which is nice. Maybe if I get a step by step way to essentially restart from scratch? It seems I'd be able to spot my faults there-- Or maybe you'll see them, I have no idea. I'm computer savvy, but not minecraft savvy...
So, I changed it to the Java (found the file in my program(x86) folder.), but it keeps instantly closing, nothing else added to the file. That's what happens when I execute the .bat though.

Right click the .jar, click "Open With", select "Java(TM) Platform SE Binary", and check the tickbox "Always use this program"
Really, though, you shouldn't be running the server that way, and I'm a bit confounded that it's working at all like that.
You should have a run.bat file with this inside:
java -Xms1024M -Xmx2048M -jar minecraft_server1.10.jar nogui
pause
Substituting the 1024 with how much ram you want to run the server with.

The .bat thing?
Create a new .txt file in your server's directory
Paste in this:
java -Xms1024M -Xmx2048M -jar minecraft_server1.10.jar nogui
pause
Replace the 2048 (thank you Unimatrix36) with how much ram you want it to use:
1024M=1gb
2048M=2gb
4096M=4gb
8192M=8gb
Etc
Click file, then "Save As"
Name it "run.bat", and save it to your server directory.
Now, if you run the .bat file, it should run your server

What happens when you execute the bat file? You always start your server using the run script.
So, I changed it to the Java (found the file in my program(x86) folder.), but it keeps instantly closing, nothing else added to the file. That's what happens when I execute the .bat though.
Instantly closes, no ELUA or w.e. pops up. Just the same picture from above.
