I am currently running a craftbukkit server on my mac for free. run the start_server.command and the server opens up. I am port forwarded and everything is working smoothly when I run it. Is there a way to upload my craftbukkit folder to some website that will run the start_server.command 24/7? I know there are minecraft server hosting services that cost money but since I made the server on my own, I shouldn't have to spend money. I just need a website that will host my files and run it 24/7 for free.
good luck with that - it costs money to host files. You're not paying hosting companies for servers, but for them to 24/7 host it.
"but since I made the server on my own, I shouldn't have to spend money." - That is not how things work, just about anybody can MAKE a server.
depends on the kind of server you want to run. If you're going for a small server, not many people on at once, than you shouldn't need premium. If you're going to use CPU-intensive things, like running several mods and/or plugins, you might want to get premium.
Ok thanks for the help I think I'll go for premium so I can use a bunch of plugins. One last thing, would you recommend I use craftbukkit, spigot, paperspigot, or bungeecord?
spigot is my go-to, although my server is ACTUALLY running KCauldron, a combination of Forge and Spigot. I had to modify some plugins to work properly because of this, but it works for me.
Thank you so much for the help. I have one last question. Is it possible to upload my current server that is hosted on my computer to GGservers? This is the whole server folder, such as all my plugins, worlds, players, everything on my server. If it is, could you tell me how I would go about that?

I'm sure it is, being that most server host have that option. Just look around the settings.
yeah, using FTP (I recommend using an external program like FileZilla). Just be sure to put the Jar file inside the Jars folder if you need a custom Jar.
The same FTP access can be used to download all the information back off the server, if you need to make a backup or move servers.

Then would I be better off using a mc server hosting service such as mcprohosting?
Yeah - I use GGServers cause they only charge 3$ a gig and the hardware is good enough for me. (premium is 6$ a gig but has better hardware).

This is kinda off-topic now, but it is my thread On GGServers would you recommend 3GB RAM with premium features or 6GB RAM without premium features?
