so im getting a 20 second delay on a modded 1.7.10 server but the weird part is it just happened. this has never happened before and nothing has changed. here are the facts
1: my ping to the server is 142 ms which is standard and both me and the server hosts did ping trace tests to each other's IP addresses and there were only maybe 3 or 4 packets lost out of several hundred.
2: nobody else seems to get this lag
3: i dont get this lag when joining any other server or game even for the same modpack
4: my transmission to the server seems to be instant but it takes ages to respond back to me (e.g. when i put a message in chat everyone else sees it instantly but i dont see my own message for ages afterwards)
5: i have remote desktop access to the server machine, no lag there
6: the server machine owner can stream 720p video to me with no lag.
7: i get stuck in the ground or in walls a lot and the console keep saying ive made an invalid or incorrect movement
personally im stumped at this stage. the latency is really bad but its the only isolated instance were there is even any latency and im just so confused. any help would be appreciated
If you have Java 64-Bit this could solve your issue. (Go onto the computer you play on) Search View Ram Info on your computer and find how much Usable Ram you have. Remember that number. Open the Minecraft Launcher. Click Edit Profile and check the box JVMArugemtns. It should say
-Xmx1G Change the 1 to any number within your usable ram, I would recommend half of it. So if you had 16G usable ram I would change it to -Xmx8G.
Click Save Profile and launch, hopefully you won't get as much latency now. If that doesn't work just try re-installing your mods. Specifically your Mod Cores if you have any.
i tried boosting up ram to 6 gb (which it doesnt even use a third of) and i even boosted permgen up to 1024 from the default 256 that didnt work.
i tried reinstalling the whole modpack from scratch and it wont even load despite me using the exact same mods and config as before.... i give up on this game.

there are plugins that help resolve lag issues. I use noLagg which greatly reduces any sort of lag within the game itself.
