Hi. So I've recently been experiencing server lag on all servers when joining Minecraft on my new PC. I've played plenty of other games such as GTA Online and my internet works perfectly fine. I've tried adding more RAM, switching back to an unmodified client (just no Optifine). Even deleting the .minecraft and java and doing a clean install. None of these have worked and this problem is really starting to become an annoyance to me because I can't seem to find a way to fix it. I'll see other people stop randomly then teleport forward after a second or two (same with sound). It's a really irritating issue and if anyone could help me to fix this issue it'd be much appreciated!
it's 100% internet lag not low FPS, believe me. I have java updated, 9 gb ram dedicated to my client and optifine installed. It's not FPS lag. I don't understand why this model PC does this. I had this model PC before and it did this. I then traded it back for a new one of the same kind because the old one had problems, and it still does it. I get over 300 fps fine on Far Render Distance, fancy graphics. It's just internet lag. People teleporting all over when they walk. You know how it is. They'll stop walking for a few seconds then suddenly appear farther ahead.

Possibly unrelated to the issue, but 9 GB is absolutely overkill for Minecraft; even if you were using 300+ mods, you wouldn't need any more than 4 GB. For vanilla Minecraft, you will almost never (possibly never, period) need more than 1 GB.
Giving Java more RAM than it needs is a bad idea. That lets the GC get lazy and a ton of junk will pile up. When the GC finally clears out all that junk, you'll see a dip in performance. You're much better off giving Java just enough RAM so the GC runs at a reasonable rate.
According to the speed test you posted its not your internet I have 50 ping, 5 download, and 0.17 upload and i run flawlessly. It could be something on the computer causing this too.
I appreciate any suggestions. But no they aren't. I've tried running Minecraft on my laptop under the same connection and it works fine, but on my desktop the lag occurs for whatever reason.
UPDATE: I have taken notice today that the lag extends into my single-player worlds. Again, the lag is not fps but more such as client lag. Animals, players all teleport around as if you were on a server with a really bad ping.
I don't see why it'd be my gpu when it works fine on all other games. I tested it on singleplayer, yes. However it was a snapshot, though I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it. My GPU is a 4GB GTX 970. No overclocking.

I apologize for the late reply. Like I said, it works fine on other games.

Do a virus scan. One of my friends had lag too and we couldnt find why. Then he did virus scan and removed them. Now he plays without any problem
There are no viruses detected. I really don't understand what the issue with this is.

should I create the DWORD registry keys at 32-bit or 64-bit considering I have a 64-bit system?
