So I am trying to set up a server and we are running into the issue of it doesn't seem to want to pass the permissions over into the other worlds. I wasn't sure if we needed to add another line into the code or something else? I had tried multiverse ranks plug-in and it ended up stopping everyone from building, and it still didn't display the ranks properly. Also not sure how to fix it to where people spawn into the proper world the first time they log into the server. They log into another world, then they have to make an island to get to the skyblock world. After that we can't seem to go back to the original world.
Multiverse Ranks plugin? I did a quick Google search for it and I found nothing. None of the permissions in the file are limited to a specific world, so some other plugin must be interfering. Can you provide the full plugin list?

Check out my server with 85+ plugins!
There are 100 bugs in the code, I fix 23 of them. How many are left? 135.
Personally, I don't think you should use this plugin at all. It adds permissions that you may or many not want and complicates things. You seem to know how to add permissions well so you should be able to do without the plugin. I have no idea how to fix the ranks not displaying properly, that might be the plugin's fault.
For players to spawn in the correct world on first login, you need to enter two commands:
/mv conf firstspawnoverride true
/mv conf firstspawnworld <worldname>
If players get stuck in the Skyblock world, there needs to be a way to get back to the original world. There are two options:
1. Players use the /spawn command and walk into a portal setup with the MultiversePortals plugin (easier).
2. You make a command with a different plugin (I use MyCommand) that teleports them to the world (harder).
I hope this all helps.

And grab any out-dated Essentials plugins that may need updating.#
Secondly, if you want new players to spawn in a specific world on first join, you'll need to change a few things in the server.prpoerties AND multiverse config.
*STOP THE SERVER AND CREATE A BACKUP BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS*
I had a few issues with it last night and it turns out BOTH server.properties AND MV Config NEEDS to be case-SenSItIvE!
Server.properties level-name should be Case-Sensitive
MV Config should read something like:
firstspawnworld: WorldNameHere
On line 31.
*TO TEST*
Once you've done this, delete your own player.dat from all world folders.
Start up your server
You should spawn in at the world specified in BOTH server.properties AND MV Config.

I'm not using an outdated Essentials, or modifying Essentials to force it to work. I'm on 1.8.8 so not going to work.

Sorry this was the plug-in that prevented us from doing anything:

You need to add the "permissionsrank.<rank>" to your permissions file. Your Member rank section should look like this:

What would you recommend for the permissions instead? With Essentials not being updated to 1.8 I keep running into that road block.

Frist of all, you'll want to head over to:

And grab any out-dated Essentials plugins that may need updating.#
