I record my videos with an Elgato game capture, so MC needs to be in full screen mode. I wanted to do an adventure map with my friend and record it, but when the server is open and i put MC into full screen mode the server closes. By the way I'm using an Asus q550lf (laptop) if that helps.
in your minecraft launcher click on edit profile at the bottom it says jvm arguments this is where you need to enter the setting to match java you your hardware every system is diferant which is why it does not come fully configured the link i gave helps with some examples but if you are new to minecarft and java then it is research and trial and error
