My son is trying to join mineplex.com in multiplayer and can't. I don't know how to solve this. I don't want to post the entire error message because I have no idea if it has sensitive info in it, but here's part of it:
# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
#
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x000000001afbb6b5, pid=7720, tid=3232
#
# JRE version: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (8.0_25-b18) (build 1.8.0_25-b18)
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (25.25-b02 mixed mode windows-amd64 compressed oops)
# Problematic frame:
# C [ig75icd64.dll+0x6b6b5]
#
# Failed to write core dump. Minidumps are not enabled by default on client versions of Windows
Great suggestion, but that's apparently not it. Did it, rebooted and no change - still the same error message. Should I uninstall Minecraft and reinstall? And can I do that without buying the program again?
In that case try disabling VBOs. If it still persists with VBOs off:
1. Are you using any mods? Specifically Optifine or shaders?
2. Post a dxdiag.
To answer your question, yes, definitely possible to reinstall (or install on another machine) without buying the game again. However it's worth trying without VBOs or mods (if any are installed) before that.
