I don't know what to do, with this, the launcher is not showing me any text, its just blank.
what do I do to fix this? I added a picture to show you what's wrong.
when I go to the download page for the server.jar file, it keeps turning out to be a .zip file.
what do I do then huh?
I keep getting zip files instead of .jar files at https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.8.8/minecraft_server.1.8.8.jar
Clearly I am doing something definitely wrong here.
Right click the server.zip
Open with > Choose another app
Navigate to your java directory. (Usually C:Program Files\Java\JREx\bin\)
Select Java.exe and open
Now, you'll need to open task manager and close Java.exe and Javaw.exe as one of these will be your server.
After these steps are completed, .jars will now open with java instead of File viewer.
Click the link in the comment above and get a start.bat going and your server should be fine.
oh this is just a huge headache for me, I could really use some help using teamviewer
