I got my server moved to a different multicraft panel, because the tech support of the company that provides me the host thought it would improve performance. before moving, I copied the world folder. I thought it would be just a matter of overwriting the new world folder with my backed up one, but now I get this crash:
ok, mcedit loads my world and says: [WARNING] [root.py:1617]:Error reading chunk: ("Chunk (-18, 8) had an error: error('Error -3 while decompressing data: incorrect data check',)", <traceback object at 0x00000000200C6948>
how do I remove it?
oh and my server has forge and some mods, can MCEdit still fix it?
I loaded the world in singleplayer and checked every file. if that file had been recently modified, I used it overwrite the corresponding file in the remote server.

You were able to fix the problem using that method? That's quite impressive! Hopefully this is a permanent fix for any errors that world might have had.

my friends and I have been playing in that world for such a long time. everyone will be really upset if I can't restore it. please help
Definitely looks like a corrupted world (as far as I know). I'm fairly sure you can fix this with mcedit by removing the corrupted portion.
More info can be found on this spigot thread: https://www.spigotmc.org/threads/chunks-corupted-really-need-help.11482/

it's making MCEdit crash too :'(
my server runs pure forge 1.7.10. no plugins. I have ForgeEssentials but I don't think their multiverse module works that way.
