Hello, me and a few friends are planning to launch a server with about 7 different worlds (Each one being about 5000 x 5000 blocks in size) and need the view distance set at 15 chunks. We will be using spigot and will try to optimize the rest of the server as much as possible. My question now is regarding how well a Minecraft server will utilize multiple CPU cores? I ask this because i read that Minecraft itself used to run off of only one CPU core, and then two after the 1.8 Update. Does this core limit also apply to Minecraft servers? Will my server run significantly better on a 8 core Intel Xeon compared to a 4 core Intel i7? Are my world sizes / view distances way to big to host on any CPU? If anyone can help me solve these questions id greatly appreciate it!
