I've been all over the internet looking for the best solution to extinguish "world-save" lag spikes. All sources point towards an auto-save plugin. But they all just replace the built-in bukkit.yml feature and do the same thing. I'd like to limit the extra plugins that add 20 features when I only need 1.
This is the only lag on my server (besides the occasional 5+ player synchronized login hiccup). I currently have my auto-save set to 6000 (5 min). I'm considering bumping it to 20+ minutes to at least spread the mini spikes out.
The Lag-Spike of Death. That is the symptoms. Try asking a VERY, VERY, VERY good person who works well with command blocks to make a Optifine in one command.
My current solution is auto task scheduling via console.
[00:45] Server Backup (every 24 hours) [00:53] Admin say- "1 minute until world save. May cause lag" (every 12 hours) [00:54] World Save (every 12 hours) [00:55] Admin say- "5 minutes until server restart" (every 12 hours) [00:59] Admin say- "60 seconds until server restart" (every 12 hours) [01:00] Server Restart (every 12 hours)
Should work just fine. At least the players know that there might be a 1-3 second spike coming.

Any suggestions???

I have save-structures set to false. So that's not the issue.
Side note:
This is not crippling lag. Just a 1-3 second hiccup.
Regardless of what plugin you use there will always be a lag spike while the world saves. Just spread them out more so its less noticeable.
That's the unfortunate answer I was waiting for. I have moved them from 5 minutes to 20 minutes.
I wasn't wondering if there was an async or only on restart option out there.

A webbing of command blocks could create an asyncronized world saving event?
Technically yes. Or you could have the blocks create less dungeons, less particles, hide rain, ect.
