when i launch the server.exe it SHOULD make more files in my server file but that dose not work it open and closes really fast and dose nothing. please help me!
I am having a similar problem. I first made a folder for the minecraft_server.1.8.8 .exe application and proceeded to run it. Upon reaching the usual Open File - Security Warning and clicking "Run", I found that nothing had seemed to happen. There were no error logs or messages of any kind. When I reattempted to create the server, I was once again greeted by this message. My Java is updated to the latest version and as far as I can tell my pc is doing fine. I can play on other multiplayer servers and even single player with the video settings maxed out and not experience anything strange (e.g. lag spikes). I have read multiple posts discussing editing the eula.txt file and changing "false" to "true". However, this really can't be done in my case as nothing shows up.. at all..
And before anyone suggests something, yes I have tried to uninstall the server application and reinstall it back from the official Minecraft webpage.
TLDR: Main concern is that no files show up at all after running the server application. Pls help!
I'm personally a fan of the jar file rather than exe; even on Windows machines. Launch it using the command line. You can make a batch script called start.bat, run.bat, or whatever. I'll give you the script below. If you run into any issues, don't hesitate to let me know.
Hmm.... Have you opened the EULA file and changed the line from "eula=false" to "eula=true"? The rest of the files should download after you change that line and save the file.
Weird, this is why i use spigot servers cause there better to use. Maybe you could go into the windows firewall and see if anything is wrong there. Aka seeing if any java things are blocked.
Maybe you can try to make the eula.txt file with eula=true. Try running the server as administration by right clicking it and click 'run as administration'
If all else fails i suggest that you just get a spigot server. It runs better and you can have plugins too. Unless your running a map or command blocks. Heres i got my server
nvm i tried and it did not work but when i made the .bat file for the other post by dylan i saw i found a elua file BUT it does not show up even when i go to organize>veiw>show hidden files but i does find them.

ok i will try but how do i launch a .jar with a command line?
Using the batch script I gave you is easiest. But I suppose you could also launch manually from command prompt.
i was unable to get this to work any other ideas?
