I own a pretty decent windows PC, and was considering hosting a small server on it. However, in my ISP's rules. you are not allowed to host a server. My basic question is, would they be able to tell if I was hosting a small server?
If so:
Would changing the port help?
Would using a no-ip or .tk domain stop them from noticing?
Is there a player limit that would stop them from noticing?
Thanks for your help,

As far as I'm aware, they will ALWAYS know. Eventually, even with a No-IP or .TK, it will go via the External IP. Traffic via the External IP, AKA the Players that are joining, is monitored by the ISP. If they see anything fishy or somthing they don't like, they can even go as far as terminating your Internet.
They record all traffic. Someone will only know if they actually look at their logs, which they will only do if it is flagged for some reason, but highly unlikely.
Most all ISPs have rules about hosting servers, but will rarely enforce it. That is in part why home connections have **** slow upload speeds compared to download. Servers need upload more.

Worst case they will notify you if its a problem.
Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.

Thanks for your help! I may try it and see if my ISP will notice. I'll keep it small thought, likely just a white listed server for my friends.
Thanks,

Just because it is a split so far, can someone else reply!
