Ok, I'm trying to setup a private server for a friend and I. I have a few issues though. First, when connecting from outside my network, the connection gets terminated on its own. Not sure where to begin fixing that. Second, I'm trying to use the save from my single player game. It's heavily modded so not sure I got Forge installed right or whatnot. Oh, and third, trying to put myself on the op list gives me this output. It's in the screenshot attachment.
Yes, I have my router setup for port forwarding. As of right now, I don't have any mods on the server. Waiting to deal with what mods will be installed once I have access from outside my network. Yes, I have the file and have op status on the server.

Operating System: Windows Vista (x86) version 6.0
Java Version: 1.8.0_45, Oracle Corporation

Is Modded: Unknown (can't tell)
Type: Dedicated Server (map_server.txt)
Leaving it blank keeps it from crashing, but Minecraft can't connect to it though. Using the server ip or localhost:25565 crashes it. I can add myself as an OP on the server. That's not an issue. Would have sooner if I had known right off the command but that's good.

It doesn't have the port in the server file. Just something I tried in the meantime. I'm going to try clearing everything out and starting fresh again in case I did something I shouldn't have.

1. Have you port forwarded?
2. Yeah you'll need to run forge with all the server side mods (make sure not to accidentally include client only mods)
3. Do you have a file in your server directory called ops.txt or ops.json?
Yes, I have my router setup for port forwarding. As of right now, I don't have any mods on the server. Waiting to deal with what mods will be installed once I have access from outside my network. Yes, I have the file and have op status on the server.
go to this website and press scan. If Minecraft is open, then you're good, but if it's not, you must have port forwarded wrong.
It shows I have the port forwarding setup correctly.
I see what the problem is, in your server.properties file, you have your IP as 10.0.0.1:25565, it needs to be localhost:25565
Let me try fixing that and get back with you.
Now crashes.

Leave server-ip blank or with your local PC address in it. It is really weird however that you cannot add an OP..

The server-ip should not include the port.
