When running a version 1.8.4 vanilla server (no mods, fresh install, etc) and attempting to connect to the same server using a 1.8.4 client, the server will crash. I do not think there is an issue with the system I am running it on as an older version of the server will function fine. (1.6.2 tested) I ensured the latest version of java is installed as well. The client I used is running on the same system as the server. Any suggestions?

Ive been having this issue, too. I only was able to get it to work by using 32bit java. I think its an issue between java and the i5 because i also have an i5
