I am not 100% sure but as I see the name/colors is too long.
Try with shorter names and it might work.

I actually thought this was the problem, but is it an issue with multiplayer? I tried out my prefix in single-player and it worked fine. Btw the prefix I was using (This is just one of 10) is §8[§r§fMember§r§8]§r§f
well I would recommend you to have a semi-vanilla server with one plugin, groupmanager.
So you can add prefix & permission if you want to.
If you are not interested in groupmanager you could install "PlayerPrefix" plugin.
If you need help with groupmanager or any plugins feel free to ask.

We're not going to have any plug-ins. End of story.
We want the server to be purely vanilla- which is why we're using an external program to edit the prefixes in. I'm still not really sure what to do though...
I've recently done some modifications to a server (Namely, adding prefixes).
After uploading the world back, I was unable to get back onto the server. On the console (We're using Multicraft), it says this:
[Disconnect] User bvyans123 has disconnected, reason: TextComponent{text='Disconnected',siblings=[],style=Style{hasParent=false,color=null, bold=null, italic=null, underlined=null, obfuscated=null, clickEvent=null, hoverEvent=null, insertion=null}}
After some research, it appeared that this was happening in mainly 1.7 bukkit servers, however, the server we have is Vanilla and 1.8.
The disconnect message on the Minecraft says:
Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: The received string is longer than maximum allowed (28 > 16)
Any help? We'd like to get this server up and running as soon as possible.
