I've been playing Minecraft since the alpha days, and I've ran a bunch of different servers for me and a few friends over the years. I'm able to mod the client just fine, however I'm having a frustrating issue with trying to mod a server. I'm using Forge.
After watching a few different videos, I found a way that seemed to work in getting the Forge server going (linked above). I'm able to log in and play on my server if there are no mods in the mods folder. Once I place one in (I've been sure to only use 1.8 compatible mods), I get to the load screen and then this happens:
How I set up my server (please tell me if I did it wrong):
-Downloaded forge installer
-Ran it and it installed to empty folder on desktop
-Changed eula.txt to true
-Re-ran minecraft_server.1.8.jar so the server files could extract, typed "stop" when done
-Ran forge-1.8-22.214.171.1244-universal.jar so those files could extract. Mods folder was created, typed "stop" again
-Placed a 1.8 compatible mod from the list here into the mods folder
-Ran forge-1.8-126.96.36.1994-universal.jar to start the Forge server
I'm getting no error logs of any kind in the server console, and Google hasn't been to fruitful. I was under the impression that the recent stable versions of Forge were packaged with everything you needed (Forge & FML). I've created about 6 different test servers today and I just don't know what else to try at this point.
