Earlier today, I was reviewing the logs from my server, when I seen a few errors come up.
Example of the errors below:
[23:37:19] [Server thread/WARN]: Wrong location for EntityItemFrame['entity.ItemFrame.name'/19615, l='world', x=-265.03, y=57.50, z=-2989.50] in world 'world'!
[23:57:28] [Chunk I/O Executor Thread-1/ERROR]: Chunk file at -17,-187 is in the wrong location; relocating. (Expected -17, -187, got -16, -191)
There were a few of these errors in various locations.
The server is on 1.8, Spigot is installed, and it has a dynamic map. No other plugins have been used.
I have noticed that after I pass the chunks and they are loaded, I don't get the errors anymore in those chunks, even after restarting the server.
I was reading the notes on Minecraft Region fixer, that on newer versions of Minecrat, the server deletes the chunks automatically and regenerates them.
Can anyone confirm if the chunks are deleted and regenerated?
I apologize if my question didn't come across clearly.
Basically the reason I am wanting to confirm if the server deletes the chunks and regenerates them is because the world is big.
It has a 10,000x10,000 border, and is currently about 1.8 gigs in size.
If I don't have to depend on 3rd party software that can repair the chunks, I would rather go that route.
I figure the less I have to move/transfer the better.
I downloaded a well known program used to do various things to worlds called "MCEdit".
Loaded the world within MCEdit, located the bad chunk, selected the chunk and went just outside the edge of it, and deleted it.
I then loaded the world in single-player, allowed the chunk I just worked with to load, and regenerate, problem was solved.
Finally, I loaded the world back onto the server, no more issues while the chunk was loaded there.
If you have a recent backup of the world, you could try that, some work may be lost though. In my situation, all the recent backups were cleared, then the chunk problem started, so the most recent backups, had the bad chunk in them.
Luckily, nothing major was on the bad chunk. We lost some of a bridge, and a huge tree that was constructed by hand, and some very minor detail stuff.

I hope this may help you.
