Howdy. I was running a simple server with Hamachi and wanted to port forward instead so I could have more people on a server and, well, not use Hamachi. I followed a guide on how to port forward and got it working for at least me, but my friend couldn't connect. Apparently, the ports weren't open. I found another guide that recommend I made inbound and outbound rules in my Firewall settings, so I did that, but now even I can't connect to the server. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I did the port forwarding stuff and did both TCP and UDP and also did TCP and UDP for the Firewall rules. I also did my IPv4 for when I connect and gave my friend the public IP so she could connect. I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I have AT&T U-verse if that makes a difference.
If your running a public server w/ out hamachi then google what is my ip, copy and paste your ip into minecraft and add your prot (default being 25565).

If the server has been forwarded and configured correctly to the default port, you shouldn't need to add the ":25565" at the end of the I.P.
You mean into the server properties or what?
Okie doke. I tried that but it said it couldn't connect to the server.

Are you running the server before testing the connection?
*Leave the [IP-Address] blank in the server.properites*
Okie doke. What do I do next? Am I just supposed to try running the server?
