It's hard to explain, sorry if this gets long and unorganized:
If you've ever played TerraFirmaCraft you understand how time works, and how different it is from normal Minecraft. When I put up a TFC (terrafirmacraft) server and let it sit for a while without playing it, time goes by and things change while I'm away. To counteract this, I had McMyAdmin shutdown my server after 5 minutes of no one on the server. Here's the cool part though, when I wanted to play again I could just join the server like I normally would. It would show a message through minecraft saying "The server is starting, rejoin in a few moments please." Then I'd reconnect and the server would be available again and time wouldn't have moved at all.
Does anyone know how McMyAdmin works? Maybe that will give better insight,
What I'm looking to do is have this setup, but without McMyAdmin. Does anyone know how to do this? I was thinking of using the batch file to do this, but I don't know batch at all. Maybe it would be easier a different way? Thanks for any help you can give!!
You need a system or proxy to do this for you, I can't think of one off the top of my head, but they aren't very complicated to make.
Could you be a little more specific? Does the proxy wait for a connection then execute the minecraft server or what now? I'm very new to networking, but I would like to learn.
