Just want to echo what some other people have said here. I've been having a horrible experience with Multiplay.co.uk.
I've got a simple, vanilla Minecraft server. No crazy mods or anything. I even payed for some extra RAM, though we only occasionally have more than 3 or 4 people online. I've been with them for about a month and a half, and have already had to open about half a dozen tickets. The server has gone down for an extended period twice. One of those included a 2 day rollback (thankfully, I had manually made a local backup which was only 1 day old). And for the past couple weeks, it has suffered extreme (1 - 3 second) lag spikes every 5 seconds or so. I keep opening tickets, they keep "fixing" the problem, only to have it reoccur after a few hours. Every time some different tech "support" person tells me the problem is on my end, completely disregarding all the proof that says they've oversold their system resources.
I'm sure some representative will show up here and say "we're sorry. Please tell me your ticket number and I'll look into it", which will be followed by absolutely nothing substantive being done. I don't want to be a cynic and say they don't mean well, because they've been polite enough. They're just incompetent.
