I recently got my friends to join my server by disabling my firewall, but I dont want to feel unsafe online when running my server, How can I make my vanilla server go thru my firewall without turning it off?
It is windows firewall, but I cant seem to find allow incoming traffic, I HAVE found allow a program thru windows firewall, but I only seem to be able to add programs, maby add minecraft server. exe? or is there another way?
So you go to Control Panel. In control panel, you'll see System and Security. Under that heading should be Check Firewall Status. Click that which will bring you to the Windows Firewall window.
In here, click on Advanced Settings. Now in here right click on Inbound Rules on the left hand side, and select New Rule.
For Rule Type, select Port and click next.
Leave the selection as TCP and for Specific local ports, type in 25565, click Next.
Leave the option as Allow the connection
For profile, select all options and click Next.
Call it something appropriate and click Finish.
I dont see how that may help, I just want to know what to let run thru my fire wall that is keeping from reaching my server. I want it on, not off to let people on.
I can run it fine, I have to deactivate my firewall, How do I allow my firewall to let people on my server without turning it off? how many times do I have to say it? I dont need help having people join, I need help letting firewall let people on without turning it offI can run it fine, I have to deactivate my firewall, How do I allow my firewall to let people on my server without turning it off? how many times do I have to say it? I'm having the same problem that you are. I've been trying to do the same as you and still no server D:
Make sure it's portforwarded as well, and directed at your local address.
