Then run through the set-up.
When you are done with the set-up, run the program
and click the "make static" button.
Then choose the reccommended ip it gives you and write it down.
2.Close the program and go to where you would log onto your router and change the settings(for me its
me its www.routerlogin.net) Or you can look on the back of your router and it should have some sort of instructions on how to login to it. Cant find any? Keep looking!
You will have to enter a password to get in
(by default its usually......Username= Admin|Password= password)
Then you need to "Port Forward".
NOTE:If you have any issues go to www.portforward.com and scroll down the page and you will see a list of routers, find your brand(in bold) and then your model(under the brand) and click on it. then threre will be an ad and click on skip ad in the top right corner. Then you will scroll down and there will be a list of programs to port-forward(in this case Minecraft). So scroll down to "Minecraft Server" and click on it, This will give you step by step instructions how how to port-forward minecraft.

This is what you NEED to do so others can come onto your server.
So once you have logged in go to "Port Forward/Port Triggering"
click Add custom Service.(or something like that).
And name it under "server name" "Minecraft server"
Then for the starting port put: 25565
And some of you may have an ending port too, if so put in 25565 as well
Then you may have to put in a "server ip", put in the static ip address you wrote down
And apply the changes.
3.Now all you have to do is download the minecraft server software from minecraft.net
Go to www.minecraft.net and go to the download section and download the minecraft_server.exe
When downloaded I suggest puttind that download in a folder of its own.
Then run minecraft_server.exe(while its in a folder) And java should pop up and run. Wait for the text to stop and it says "Done"
close minecraft_server.exe and then restart it.
Now your server is done!
to log on type run minecraft and click multiplayer and click "Add Server"
And type in the name of the server(My Server) and for the ip put in your external ip
if you dont know what it is go to www.ipchicken.com and on the front page it will tell you.
