Hmm, doesn't seem to be working.. try starting fresh, make a new folder and put the server jar file into it (the 1.8 one) Then tell me once you're done
I have norton which i just got recently but I have had it for awhile and that isn't the problem, and I know for a fact my firewall isn't because it never ever has been. Keep in mind I ran a server for like 2months but now just nobody can connect. I'm portfowarded 100% correctly.

@echo off
"%programFiles(x86)%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms1024M -Xmx1024M -jar "directoryofserver\minecraft_server.jar"
gui
pause
directoryofserver\minecraft_server.jar should be replaced with where your jar file is located for example mines located at
"C:\Users\Jerry\Desktop\Gareth\minecraft.jar"
Firewall: MAKE SURE YOUR FIREWALL IS TURNED OFF
Even if you have properly port forwarded, noone can join your server unless your Firewall is off.
System Firewall make sure thats off
Any 3rd party Firewalls installed in Antiviruses..
Too be sure open task manager and end all the anti viruses process.
Hamachi or Lan?
Open up your server.properties file.. next to IP of server it should be blank if your on Lan... and your IP you give to people is @ http://ipchicken.com unless your using a nameserver
I get the same problem, also, when i go to my cmd to check my local ip by typing ipconfig, it says it does not recognize this command as an internal or external bat file. I cat figure it out.
Edit: fail, i thought there was only one page of posts but turns out there was three, ill try turning off my firewall when i get home.
Guys i figured out what was wrong with mine, it wasnt the fire wall, it was just that i was using the wrong local port id. I was using 192.168.1.104 when i should have been using 192.168.1.103. To check, click the start button, search cmd, open that and in the cmd type ipconfig and that will bring up a bunch of info on your computer, you're looking the one that says something like 192.168.1.100 then you use that number to port forward.
