I am having problems forwarding my ports. I have forwarded 25565 on my router and on windows firewall and I STILL cannot get the server to work. Can anyone please help ? I don't understand why it still won't work. :sad.gif: :sad.gif:
I tried the "simple port forwarding tool" (which is a lie) because it still doesn't work. And I have a belkin. I've been trying for hours disabling things and changing numbers but still wont open the god damn port.
Did you make a static Ip?
Go to http://www.portforwarding.com/ and theres a section on how to port forward. Go to your startt menu (Assuming you have a pc) and type cmd. Then when cmd comes up type ip config. Then go to your internet and type in the adrees type your computer internal ip. that should take you to your router website thingy. When you do that go to like the gaming type tab and type in the ports you want to port forward. Usually 25565. When thats all done the website should have an internal link taking you to a page telling about creating a static Ip you have to create a static ip so that the ip doesn't chnge and people cant connect. then when you get everything done you can download a program from the same website that test the ports. If everything checks out. Google Wahtsmyip when you enter the website it will tell you the ip then you give that to friends or put that in the Beta Survival Server tab and let others join your server!!

Yeah, make sure you have a static IP, then go to portforward.com and enter your specific router model to get the instructions for your router.
steps to a happy minecraft server:
- Disable the windows firewall (unless you dont have another one, like norton)
- Get a Static IP
- Forward the ol' port
- (make sure you're actually running on port 25565 in server.properties btw)
