An exact spawn would be nice. I am building an escape server and a correct, exact block spawn is needed
EDIT: Some commands aren't working like /rules
As I understand it, Minecraft 1.3 creates a 20x20 area for spawning. So far, the only way I've found to determine spawn is to be non-op and try placing blocks. When you can place a block, you're out of the spawn area.
Let me know what commands aren't working for you. It's likely the commands aren't enabled in your MCWrap.conf if they're not working.
Would it be possible to get a prefix before an Ops name, or if possible create a ranking system so there could be the admins, ops, builders, ect
When players are listed, ops should show with "(Op)" before their name. If that's not working, let me know. As for rankings, yes that could be added.

Is there really no way around the Ops not being able to use this wrapper? xD
Ops can use it... all the commands the wrapper uses are commands ops use. Of course, I could make it so MCWrap commands from an op get executed too. I'll add that to my TODO list.

Also, can you add a way to create teams while in game and then the leader of that team can /team add membername or something along the lines of that.
Could you also add a way to vote on adding people to the whitelist followed by a reload of said whitelist?
I'm sure I could create something like this. While I see the usefulness of the whitelist updating, I'm not sure what benefit in-game team changes would provide. I'll put them on my list as well though.
Well it's more or less ease of access for creation or modifications of teams while in game.
I see... I think I need to spend a little time making groups with permission levels. This way we can have Ops, Team Leaders, Team Members and Guests within MCWrap. This will increase the complexity of the conf file, but should be more useful for creating levels of permissions within a server.

First of, really nice simple wrapper i love it :smile.gif:
But, When i write a motd every sentence begin with whispers, how do i remove that..?
btw. I feel like an idiot asking this, because there must be a simple explanaition...
You can't, at least as far as I can tell. The way MotD works, the server console is /telling the user the messages. It's that command causing the 'CONSOLE whispers' prefix on every line.
After having used this mod for a few days without any ops, I gotta say it works great, we did have an instance of a griefer and the community took care of him right away. Just needs some polishing up with some new features and you got yourself a great wrapper!
Just a quick question, what is that "allowed items" field inside of the config?

I think it's more likely that Notch will add an Iraq biome that we can invade and mine for oil. Getting oil from fish is just too hard.

Excellent! Glad to see it's working out for you.
Allowed items is the list of Data Values that users can enter into a /get command and actually get something. If items are entered that aren't listed in 'allowed items', they won't (or shouldn't anyway) get anything.
Basically, the /get command is a whitelist and that section is the list of allowed items.
I've been fairly busy lately, but I'm hoping to get some time by this weekend to spend refactoring code and working on groups (teams/whatever). Once that's well implemented, I think I'll call it done pending further requests. :smile.gif:
I know I'm sounding a bit nit pickity, but the last wrapper I used enabled above ground protection from Creepers. If you could do that I'd actually donate or praise you as a deity.
FYI I've been using your wrapper since I First posted and it's doing freaking awesome! (I'll be donating once I find my wallet)

People like this mod so much on my server they've actually used it for their own.
Will we be seeing an update soon?
Awesome! I'm glad people are finding it useful.
I'm hoping to get a little work done on it today, so yeah, hopefully.
As to the creeper assistance... this mod can't do that. I'm not intercepting packets, only commands to the Minecraft server.
I'll be going through the posts here (and some code that was PMed to me) and making a TODO list of things for MCWrap. Once that's done, I'm hoping I'll have a little time to maybe do some of them today. :wink.gif:
Sadly, no. This is a 'spare time' project for me, and having two young children means spare time is somewhat rare.
I'm still motivated to work on MCWrap, and I will be updating it. It's just not my first priority right now.
Just putting everything into a TODO list was a pretty good accomplishment for me. :wink.gif: That said, this is open-source of sorts and I'd be glad to take patches from users that are experienced with Python and interested in tweaking MCWrap.
My server I am setting up for home use for myself/wife/kids to play together on has an "odd" issue involving received packet errors and the only way I can make it work is by using simpleserver wrapper (Dont ask why, but by using that wrapper on the server with bukkit it works great!) here is a link to my post involving that issue viewtopic.php?f=1023&t=277529
Does your wrapper support bukkit, or allow some other *.jar file to be loaded from it other then minecraft_server.jar? If you could put this in the config setting, this would be a great wrapper to use with bukkit! I am asking this because if I need to use some sort of wrapper in order for my server to stay stable, this one would work nicely (when its updated for 1.4_01) because it seems like a nice, light-weight wrapper then what simpleserver is.

It should work with any .jar, though I haven't tested it. Just change the "jar = minecraft_server.jar" in MCWrap.conf to whatever you want. Not really sure what will happen, but it's worth a shot.
Also, as I only wrap the server it should work just fine with 1.4_01 (hence the 1.3+, but maybe I should rename).
Gonna try it soon. Would be awesome wrapper for planes mod.
I hope it works with 1.4_01
Awesome I love your wrapper. It just works. Would be happy to see IRC support.
Using it!
------- kiswa, can you add badblocks or make an option to disable Fire and TNT. Thanks.
Also 0.4 works great on 1.4_01
Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I suppose IRC support could be added... is there interest from the community?
As for the bad blocks... can't help you there. Since MCWrap doesn't intercept packets, it can't change things like that. It's really just here to allow commands in-game for non-ops (so I could play with my family).

That would be awesome, because then I could tell someone I know that I've actually made money from my hobby!
If I get donations, I think I'll list donors on the main thread as a thank you. It'll be cool to see who contributes to MCWrap!
Also, donations pending until my account clears of a few transactions.

[java]
jar = minecraft_server.jar
minram = 512
maxram = 1024
Also, will this work for 1.8? I'm just using this for the plainest vanilla of options, MOTD and OP'ing
