Hi,
I recently bought a VPS to host my server on. I use putty to login as root and I have ftp access to all my files, but my one question is how do I see what is going on in my minecraft server through putty? Like, how do I see chat and respond by speaking through the console?

Login using SSH or Telnet... (highly doubt it's telnet)

I do login using SSH, and I can start the server and run other commands, but nothing directly related to minecraft.

Hmm... so what commands are you able to issue?
If you type 'screen -list' does it come back with anything? If so, post the response to that command.

There is a screen on:
10179.minecraft (Detached)
1 Socket in /var/run/screen/S-root.
and to run the server I do
8 cd minecraft
9 screen -S minecraft java -Xms2000M -Xmx2000M -jar minecraftserver.jar nogui
Uhh... I would advise against running it as root, but whatever..
Seems you are using MCSheller or some version....
If that is the case typing './minecraft.sh' should attach you to that screen... or you could just type 'screen -r' to reattach...
You NEED to detach your screen before you exit, lest you find your server down.
To detach you first type CTRL+a, then press 'd' to detach.

Yea, I looked through the screen commands and saw reattach so I just did that and it worked. Thanks for the help!
