I set up a server a few months ago using my outdated computer. It's run fine until recently, however, the map has corrupted twice and we needed to reset it. A few weeks ago, a few days after the update that included squids, a few of the regulars using the server, myself included, were unable to connect, while others connected without problem. When looking at the server itself, there was no evidence that there was even an attempted login from the users who could not connect.
My guess is that this is an issue with either client, or the hardware on the server. Any suggestions?

Connecting via 127.0.0.1 wont do any good if I am reading the OP correct. I am assuming that the server is running on a different machine than he is trying to play on based on the way his post was written.
To the original poster, were you running a vanilla server (no mods) or were you running Hey0?
If you were running a vanilla server, try downloading the newest server software from minecraft.net.....
if you were running Hey0... it's dead. People are switching to bukkit.... it can be found at bukkit.org
Be warned bukkit is not a full release at this point. It can be kind of odd at times. They have pretty good step by step instructions, but you have to be willing to read them.
Sorry if that last came off sounding a little jerky, but people lately have a bad tendency to not follow the instructions and then whine because it hasn't worked

We were running Hey0 until it died. We are currently running vanilla. We currently have the latest server software also. I'm thinking I'll try redownloading it to be sure, though.
