I've been having some Issues with my Private server that I'm hoping someone will be able to shed some light on.
System Specs:
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.81GHz
ASUS M4A77TD
G.Skull 2GB DDR3-1600 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) (x2 4GB total)
Seagate SATA300 7200rpm 16MB Cache
Windsow 7 64-Bit
100MB/s Ethernet Cable.
I also have high speed internet (Not sure what the Speed is for that) - Cogeco
##information gathered from Sandra Lite
BAT file:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar Minecraft_Mod.jar
(Normally I run it with No GUI but for testing reasons I'm not.)
Server Mod:
Hmod by hey0 v133
Server and client are also both up to date.
If you need more info on anything, just say so!
Alright, here is the issue, Once I join my server from the same computer, and there are more than 3 people including myself, the server lags to hell and back. Once I disconnect from the server, the lag goes away and everything is fine and dandy! Also, my CPUs all max out at 100% when this lag occurs! I've checked my RAM, my Hard Drive and even ran the Client off my external Hard Drive (1.5T USB) with no real improvement. I also borrowed my friends laptop to see if there was some issue with the router but running the client on his laptop didn't cause any lag. My brother also (we are on the same router) has no issues connect and no lag.
It seems I can have 3 people on my server without any trouble but once I join, it lags and the CPUs spike to 100% usage.
I've heard somewhere that you could try placing the server on a USB stick but I haven't gotten around to getting one as of yet.
I also tried running the server without Hmod and it worked for a while than just randomly got huge lag spikes and once again, the CPU usage went to 100% on all cores.
My questions to you:
Would it be best for me not to run the client on the same Computer as the server? And would possible setting up a Ubuntu Server (10.1) on VMware and hosting the server there allowing me to run the client on my host OS without these issues? Would placing the server on a USB stick help? Would increasing the allowed RAM usage help at all?
Alright thats all I have to say at the moment, thanks for reading my post!
