I'm interested in setting up an SMP server for me and my 3-8 friends who play Minecraft to screw around.
Before I go out and pay for Slicehost or a cheap old x86 box, I have my (sentimentally valued) first webserver, which is a 500 Mhz PowerPC G3 tower running 10.3.9. Presently it has 512 MB RAM; I could upgrade that to 1 GB (4x256) for cheap.
What I want to know is if there is any hope of a machine with these characteristics running Minecraft, either on a bare-bones OSX 10.2/10.3/10.4 or some old PowerPC *nix install. I've seen very conflicted reports across the Internet (and this forum) of what the minimum requirements might be.

Thanks!
I figured as much. Thanks!
