I realize this has probably been answered before but I have had trouble finding the solution.
I'm currently using a dedicated server to run a minecraft server on. Ports are open on IPTables for default connection and I am able to connect just fine.
I'm running the server inside of screen and have plenty of RAM.
Problem : In the server it is very laggy. Not network lag but a very low framerate while single player locally plays fine.
I'm running on CentOS 5.4, Java is up to date, etc etc.
While in TOP I noticed that minecraft server is only using ~ 30% memory.
