So far, it only gives 1 one of those blocks, instead of 32. What am I doing wrong?
I suggest a sign basicly does the same thing as a gate but makes a bridge

This function requires WorldEdit because it requires selecting cuboids. You only need to use its cuboid selection functions.
Cordon off the area with WorldEdit and then use the /savearea [name of area here] command to save it. Make a sign near the area with [Toggle] as the second line and the name of the area on top.
Preventing Item Farming: Using Chests
In craftbook.properties, change block-bag to nearby-chests in order to force CraftBook get items from nearby chests. Note that chests must have at least one item to begin with (to work around a bug). Note that in some cases, such as with the gate, if it runs out of fences while building it, you may up with a weird gate that you have to fix manually.

It keeps the sign, but it does make them redstone torches. Do you mean just 'turn off' the torch? That's not possible because torches don't have an off state.
