I just spent the last hour trying to figure out why my plugin would not load.
Turns out it goes all on me and I get and (server won't load).... if... and this is completely retarded... if my class is named "minimap" (which it was)!!!
I can find absolutely no conflict with the name minimap in either Notch's or Hey0's code. But nonetheless, to please the Java Gods, the class is now called Minemap.
...
I still need to test my changes in both Hey0 plugin form and standalone mod form. But I'm making progress.

Thats all fine and dandy. Im heading off to bed so I'm in no rush! Best of luck!
Got the Hey0 plugin working just wonderfully. The plugin is a single .jar file. You just drop it in the plugins folder and add "MMPlugin" to server.properties.
Hopefully I can get the same .jar file to work in the traditional standalone mod format so I won't be adding more code duplication.
I also made it easier for admins to get and set the password (they can do it ingame now). See the changelog in the original post for more information.
Now I get to enjoy the last hour of my weekend away from this Minimap project. Its hard to believe that I did all this in 1.. 2.. 3 days! Though to be fair I tried to make a client mod over 2 weeks ago and got to salvage a little of that code and design work.
Congrats bp! This is an awesome app. Go enjoy the rest of your weekend and have some fun. Not that going cross eyed looking at code isn't fun but... :smile.gif:

Eh, well, I can't say I would be doing this if I hated it :smile.gif:

Thanks brother and I'm so happy I pointed you to hey0 Mod I think you have done something great there! I suggest you put down Hey0 94 support since he sometimes does update and requires a slight change in the plugin. His next version in fact is going make it so you can use old plugins but they will spit out errors but at least work.
bp2008, would you like me to add the hey0's plugin part of this onto the wiki article I made along with the post in hey0's forums?
Sure, go ahead. What wiki article?
-------
By the way, I have received next to no feedback on this project! Just a few people dealing with bugs in older versions and mostly being vague about what was and was not working for them.
So, if you are running this on your server, I want to hear from you! Can people connect to the server? Has it ever crashed the server? Has the client ever crashed? All my bugs I've found in testing have been at startup. Of course, I have only tested it over a LAN too. What would really be great is a populated server to test on, if anyone is brave enough to put it on one, and then thinks to tell me about it!

I made a wiki page on mine to watch peoples' plugins and stuff. Noone has registered to use it, but I think people have viewed it. http://wiki.shadow-craft.tk
Im running it on my server, and so far Im getting this error
Exception thrown when getting player data from server. Most likely this means the server has an incorrect 'host' value in its MM configuration
Im thinkin its either a) cause Im using the sql version or :cool.gif: i didnt edit it right
EDIT: Yeah, it was :cool.gif:. Make sure to change the host to the IP you use to connect :tongue.gif:

Ahh, nice. That should be linked in more places!

Yeah, I should probably color that particular instruction line in my server setup instructions. Its the dumbest thing, really, and the reason why it is even necessary to specify the host on the server itself is very technical and complicated and I'm not sure I really understand it.
BTW, I do all the file I/O and parsing myself, so if it isn't called mmCfg.txt, it isn't my configuration file. :biggrin.gif: This is unaffected by anyone else's use of SQL.

I'll be adding your stuff soon though :biggrin.gif:

Probably lol But I accessed it not on the same pc ;P
And that is very nice.
"Exception thrown while connecting to server: error unmarshalling return; nested exception is: java.net.MalformedURLException: no protocol: minecraftserver location.

I fixed that problem.. I have my server being run in my dropbox, and it would seem your program doesn't like that.
Now i'm getting.
"Exception thrown when getting player data from server. Most likely this means the server has an incorrect 'host' value in its MM configuration."
BTW - you should rotate the map overlay COUNTER-clockwise, not clockwise to match directions. =)
And after that you also need to flip it horizontally, yes, cartographer outputs the maps in a weir way. 0_o
Here's a map I put a fairly large map-calibration cross in after it's been processed (notice the directions are correct):

Have you tried Minecraft AutoMap?
Take your time :smile.gif:
