I run a bukkit SMP server on my computer. I installed the bukkit plugin and it says it's working. I start up the MM client and enter the ip that I used to play on it and it just gives me a black map and the menu bar flashes sporadically. What's wrong?
I have been using this, and it does work, but is rough around the edges.
But out of the box the plugin worked on Bukkit, and the client worked.
Capturing a map, loading it, and then aligning it was the pita part. nice part is it does not use too many resources on either the server or the client.
Is there a similar program that will create a map viewable on a web browser?
Unregard...I found what I was looking for...Dynamic Map (dynmap)

Yes, this is the first mod I ever wrote and the first real Java program too, so it certainly is rough. I would have recommended dynmap anyway since it gets updated a lot more often than this does. I can't make any claims about its resource usage though. Probably pretty steep compared to MM.
it doesnt say anywhere on the page what minecraft version its compatible with, i have 1.6.5 and i was just wondering if it was compatible
Sorry, this hasn't been updated in a long time. It was compatible with Bukkit (the 3rd party minecraft server that everyone uses), not with Minecraft itself.
But I stopped maintaining the plugin months ago due to a lack of interest. It might come back if and when I have some reason to believe I won't have to update it every few weeks.
It does not work with the current version of Minecraft unless by some fluke the Bukkit API is still compatible after all these months. But they really like changing things for no good reason, so I doubt it is compatible. There are no plans to update this mod because there are other, better mods out there which are kept maintained.
I suggest using Dynmap if you run a server, or AutoMap if you just play on one.
Both of these are far better than this mod ever was.

Have you tried Minecraft AutoMap?
MILLÉNAIRE + Dr Zhrarks Mo Creatures + More Creepes and Wiedos + SPC + TMI = AWESOMENESS!

Will test the 818 build as soon as Bukkit and the other plugins are stable.

I can honestly say I'm surprised it works as recently as that. Certainly it must be spamming you with warnings and such, though?
