I get the same problem. I am able to log on to the server, but none of the commands work, and the server status is still "starting".
I'm getting the same issue except I can't log into the server and nothing shows up in the monitor other than the update text.
Mine did this when I was trying it on Windows Server 2003, I right clicked the .exe and under compatibility, i ran it as Windows XP...actually worked o_0
I dunno, worth a shot.
I'm on Server 2008 R2 now
The thing is I have xp pro sp3.
Well just for giggles I'm running in compatibility mode now for windows 2000 (lol) it moves but gets stuck at 95%
There seems to be a 'memory leak' of sorts. Not really.
Basically for each connection that happens from the server lister at servers.minecraftforum.net it will maintain a thread for that connection. I think the problem is either that the object is not properly being marked for garbage collection, or that the connection isnt being closed (which would imply the first one, as well).
Look into it? : )
My server has been up for less than 24 hours and has over 1000 threads lol

That is really weird, my server correctly ends all Threads O.o
Well, just in case I added a destructor to my player call now which aborts all Threads of that player.
Will be pushed with next update when I will also have fixed the weird Windows XP bug which i just have no idea why it happens.
//EDIT: This XP bug is riddiculous, I cannot figure it out atm, so I pushed the update that should fix the threading issues.

thanks! ill report back. hopefully that takes care of the issue!
ps if you're ever feeling keen to releasing the source i'd love to take a look at how you're handling the proxying of packets back and forth so quickly.
Pushed a new update, now it starts on like 1 out of 2 trys on Windows XP. It seems WinXP doesn't like StdIn/StdOut/StdErr redirection, so I disabled the unnecessary SrdOut redirection. If I could disable StdIn redirection it would start almost always.....
Could you explain the whitelist and blacklist a bit further? Like, what difference does Rank actually do? Every item not on the list seems to be "permission denied" unless you're OP or Admin. Also, what are the actual differences between the ranks?

Whitelist means that only admins can spawn items, UNLESS you set them to a LOWER rank in the list.
Blacklist means that guests can spawn all itmes, UNLESS you set it to a HIGHER rank in the list.
Rank differences are what commands, kits and blocks you can use. Blocks and Kits can be set manual, commands are:
!tp builder, !summon advbuilder, !kick advbuilder, !ban op, !unban op, !banip op, !unbanip op, !setrank op. All other commands are either for guests or I forgot them right now.
(Ops can also see IPs in !who NAME)

That's what I thought, but when I add players as advbuilders, using Blacklist, they can't !give themselves Wood, Cobblestone, or anything like that, they just get permission denied.

It's items you can USE, !give is op-only.
I made these block-lists because currently you can give yourself inventory using memory hacking.
Or just to prevent guests from using TNT in general no matter how they got it.
I may be really, REALLY stupid, but I think I actually installed it incorrectly or something. The program hangs at 'starting...' right after a console window pops up the disappears really quickly. This happened after I dl'd the new server.jar from the MC DL page. Is this not compatible with the update? I'm running Vista Pro under x64 and have noupdate enabled so it won't delete Llamacraft D:

What's it like this time of year in Logical Fallacy Land? I hear the weather is always nice because the weather is always nice.

If you disable auto-update it also does not update MCAdmin.exe anymore, backup your minecraft_server.jar, let it update once, quit it, then put the minecraft_server.jar back.

Hmm, confusing, but I did it (I think) and it still isn't working... any ideas? I absolutely love how this is set up, and think you're doing a great job with it so far!

This is exactly what happens to me. I'm on XP SP3.

Okay, I am able to reproduce your problem on my old XP laptop, will attempt fixing it.

I hope I fixed it now, I implemented some more socket-checking...

Good :smile.gif:
Will come soon.
Btw: Updated and added a playerlist to the Main GUI :smile.gif:
