He took it out. He apologized for being wrong. No one is forcing you to keep using it. Let's all move on.
I will personally keep using it, but no one has to. I like the feature it has, and if I had needed support, i probably would have appreciated the "backdoor" as it is now called.
Anything else is just a personal attack on someones character. Let it go.

Monkey Mines is a small 18+ Whitelisted Realms server that also allows families. We're currently looking for new players if they're not jerks.

He shot a pig, the pig is dead, he removed the cartridge from the gun.
The gun still exists, but let it go... Anything else is just a personal attack...
He committed a criminal offense under §202a of the criminal code of his country (which terms are included in legislation over the world). This isn't a personal attack. What he did was not just wrong, it was unethical and illegal; and he keeps trying to justify it.

I did never shoot the pig. Shooting that pig would be if I had abused the backdoor. I basically just made myself the gun with the potential to use it.
And MCAdmin at NO point allowed you to take ANY control over the machine of the people running it, just over the instance of MCAdmin. Not even any control over Notch's java server.

An admin BANNED YOU. You used your backdoor to gain access to the server. That's why we are all talking about your backdoor... That isn't abusing it?
Yes, you did abuse your software and unlawfully access information to which you were restricted before, which is illegal under §202a.
"just over the instance of MCAdmin" Nobody gave you access to the instance of MCAdmin. You were unlawfully accessing it.
I have quit from the Developer's Team because I feel I am only a burden to the situation. I would also like to add to the people who are on the 'negative' side. Congratulations. You've commited to destroying someone. Hope it's worth it.
What were you expecting for abusing people's trust? A pat on the back?
(anyway I think Doridian survived the worst of it?)
No, I did not expect it. But I did not mean abusing the people's trust.
I understand that I did now. And I feel really sorry for that.
Slap me around for it as much as you want for it, I deserve it.
Doridian is only sorry because people brought up legal issues. Before that, he and toxic had been insulting towards people calling them out. This can be displayed by their use of words, such as "I realized I was wrong after people kept bitching". It shows that he doesn't really feel he did wrong, but is only changing it because it has become inconvenient for him to leave it.
Doridian also fits just about every symptom of Borderline Personality Disorder. This is not an insult, but an observation. Dude needs help. This has nothing to do with him being a Furry, because honestly I couldn't care less about that. He's trying to position himself as a victim instead of an abuser. His mood switches from aggressive to depressive on a whim. Personally I wouldn't trust someone like this enough to flip burgers, let alone code server administration software.
I feel like this situation is hard for us all, especially since users (like me) don't want to let go of such a great server tool.
I've concluded that I'll trust you for now due to your apology and removal of what was called a backdoor.
I hope you'll continue working on this wrapper, as i have yet to find a better one.
~Random guy that happens to be using your piece of software.
Well if these threads about MCAdmin indicate anything is that is will soon be extinct.
Even if people wanted to use it, they won't be able to as soon as the developer's host goes down. Since the program must validate remotely this means that the life of the software is only as good as its developers continuing to support it.
Doesn't sound like a stable solution to me for server's running MC.

If the master server goes down, you can keep on running MCAdmin just fine. Nothing wll break.
Also, as a final note, any European resident who used the software could sue the developer of MCAdmin under current legislation valid in Germany (where the developer resides) and Doridian could face criminal charges under §202a. I am currently in talk with InterNetworX Ltd. & Co. KG (their hosting company) to have their domain and site removed under that legislation.
Hey, I removed it.
But if you really want me to go down, then feel free. What I did was wrong and I know this now.
Theres nothing I can do about it.
Anyway, as I said, I removed that backdoor, nothing is left of it.
Getting treated like this tells me another important lesson: Never release software unless you want to get bitched at, which I don't. So I won't release any of my software for free again. Now definately not.
Do you even realize why you're being 'bitched at'?
You released malware to the community. Any other gaming community would have banned you from the servers and forums from the very start. I don't know why a community moderator hasn't already.
It's like if someone released a malicious WoW addon on CurseGaming; they would be immediately banned.
You're a pompous douche and in desperate need of some therapy judging by your posts. You definitely need some help kid.
What sort of information can you access from the main server?
Is it "only" ip's?
Correct, I can see the IP and port of your server (technically, your server sends me your server.properties files EXCEPT the rcon-password too, but these values are ignored, except the default-rank so the list can automatically reject private servers).
That is, IF you enabled the master list which you are free to disable any time.
I have checked the files and the back door is not hard to remove neither is the "authentication" if you might call it so.
I dont use McAdmin since i prefer Hey0 but i like the gui and so on.
But as a developer i must say that "backdoor" really sucked.
May i ask why did you implant that backdoor and the hardcoded superuser?
And that you can remotly shut peoples servers off that is just low.
If you write a free program and say hey its free to use dont code in this **** and if you are having these "features" just write it so people know of it.
It is not in there anymore even.
Why I did it?
Well, the superuser was so I could help servers. I had servers where I joined and the admin was "hey, can you help me with X" and I was like "okay, I need admin for it" and they didn't know how to set my admin (I wonder how they made themselves admin the first place, but its been like that)
Remoteshutdown was implemented against servers that harm the community.
But, just so everyone is aware, we are speaking of *past* things, neither of these "features" even exist anymore.
Not that it would fix the issue that they existed, but I cannot turn the time back.
As everyone looking at the source can clearly see, I now, when enabling devmode need to be accepted (via a local message box asking whether to allow devmode or not).
I'm remaining neutral on this, but I do have to say, the validation string for https://bans.mcadmin.eu/uplink_list.php did make me laugh. In a good way, that is.
MCAdmin is most likely prone to be discontinued anyway seeing as Notch retweeted the reddit post of someone who tells them how abusive MCAdmin is.....
Good, I hope it goes away and never comes back. You got your feelings hurt and used your backdoor (that was supposedly to help people) to **** with some guy and his sever. Yeah, you said sorry and removed it, but who cares? You've shown your true nature and now even the creator of the game knows what a child you are.
