Ok, trying to run this on XP. I have the correct paths entered, but all it does is stops at "Starting input Loop...".
Can connect to the server mostly without problem but the wrapper seems inactive.
Tried another computer with XP and same problem so it can't be just my computer.
Try using a bat file. I was having this problem but I fixed it by using a .bat file:
Create a blank .txt file. Rename it to run.bat (make sure it's not run.bat.txt !!!)
Add that code to the .bat file by right clicking and choosing "edit".
Put the .bat file in the same folder as your server files.
run the .bat file like a .exe file
That doesn't even run the wrapper. It just runs the server with an extra command-line argument that does nothing.
I have no idea why it doesn't work on XP. I am looking into it but I am about to throw in the towel because in all honesty you should rethink what you are doing if you are hosting a server of any sort on XP.
Wonderful Piece of Engineering. Thanks a million OP. I have a few suggestions.
Feature Request:
* Display server time: #time
* Display server uptime: #uptime
* Save Users Items After Disconnect, maybe a seperate .txt for each player? for example, if a person types #save, it saves their items to a txt file. I have no clue if it's possible.
*Restart Scipt, just incase the server crash's
okay so, even though the text files didn't update (probably my fault), all the commands do work for me. Going to restart the server to see if the updated text files will go into effect.
Ok so I'd LOVE to use this on ym server. but i cant seem to get it to work. I tried the tut you provided, but the java program it asks for wont download correctly, and ti seems to be a different version. Help please?
No way to get player's items. Best you could do is log what they have asked for and give them the same things when they re-connect.
Glad to see some people who understand what's going on under the hood. :smile.gif:
@badcompanytwo I can whip together a quick #time and #uptime command for a future release. I actually did stuff similar to that very recently so the code for it is somewhat fresh in my mind.
@Psycl0ps Thanks for the mirror. Sorry for not getting back to you, I missed the posts about your FTP server.

It work for me on XP. Service Pack 3
Java 1.6.0_21
The only issue I have is it stalling at "Input loop..." when I have to enter a command to get it started.
Strange. Ahh well, I am not touching XP anymore. Maybe when I release my source code somebody will find something retarded that I did that broke it. Not feeling too optimistic about that though.
First thing I'm doing is adding custom names to the block ids so i can say #summon cobblestone instead of #summon 4
Ah, considering you said you would implement an #uptime command, you know what would be EXTREMELY useful? Timed restarts. =)
When #uptime reaches something, the server would reboot (with an advance warning message). How about that?
I mean you or Czahrien. :-P

I just had someone #ban'd from my server, his name never appeared in the ban list, and after that point my ops were unable to #kick him, so he ran amuck without being able to be kicked. What do?

Nevermind I fixed this. Had to do with installing java and not restarting or something.

I like to make players work for their cobblestone though :sad.gif:
