Hey guys, I'm having trouble getting certain aspects of my server to function properly using MinerCPP. My main problem is that I'm having trouble with this ranks system, and that I can't seem to give anyone including myself and privileges by any means. When I join my own server it views me as a Guest, and won't let me build or anything. I went to the users.txt file and added in my username:255 to see if it would work but I still show up as Guest(0).
Here's a few things I've done that I'm not sure if they interfere with this process or not.
First of all, I have two computers that I'm running this on: My Desktop and my Netbook. My netbook is running the server itself and I use the desktop to play the Minecraft. The reason for this is because I cannot connect to my own server, nor can anyone connect to it if I run the server on my desktop, even though I've taken the same exact steps on the Netbook as on the Desktop (port forward, firewall exception, server setup, etc), also I can't play Minecraft on the netbook because it isn't powerful enough to play it. If I try to run the server on my desktop using the default minecraft server software from the website, I will never let me join my server because "Minecraft.net cannot verify my username," and No, verify_names = false is not an option here, do not suggest it. Although if I run the default software on my netbook, everything works as intended minus the perks of the custom commands of MCPP.
Second of all, running a server with MCPP works fine on the netbook, minus the fact that everyone is a guest all the time forever and cannot build anywhere. Because I cannot use the local link to minecraft on the netbook because it sucks and crashes the browser, I tried to do it on the desktop just because. the outcome: Illegal name error. I followed CriticSquid's fix for this, and I still came up as a Guest with no powers through the local link.
I also tried using the Server OP Console which uses mono, however when that happens I can't even try to connect to the server because it results in my browser freezing/crashing.
So tell me, what is it that I'm doing wrong or what is it that I need to be doing or whats the fix that everyone's depriving me of?
Once again, any help given is appreciated (assuming I actually get any this time >.>)

Verify-names is known to be broken, mCPP is no longer being developed. Find a fork of it. I think luacraft is based of mCPP

I disagree with you, therefore you are wrong.

Make sure you restart the server before you try it out.

I don't know if cussing is allowed on the forum, but I'm going to risk it JUST FOR YOU
I ****ING LOVE YOU. YOU ARE MY GODDAMNED SAVIOR.
I also slightly dislike you for making me feel kinda stupid, but it's unfathomably outweighed by my delight.
Thank you!!
:smile.gif: No problem. It took me awhile to figure that out.
