i suggest you re-download the custom server and replace the files you have. you already have all the dependencies (zope, twisted, ...). this may fix something else you messed with.
Well, I tried that, and it started telling me that I don't have Simplejon, I know for a fact I do, so I uninstalled everything that had to do with Python and started over and it's still telling me I don't have Simplejon, When I try to install it again tho, it tells me I already have setuptools installed.
This is all running on 64bit Server 2008

Update on progress:
*Fixed major bug where the server received new block removal updates, but didn't send the updates to players resulting in people standing on air because in their game there was still a block right there.
*Added new rank "World-Owner"(is the owner of a specific world and has special commands in that world only, used in conjunction with /setowner)
*Fixed /status command(now shows physics, owner, and some other specifics)
*All ranks are world specific now(a person can be a admin in one world and a player in another)
*Directional Message blocks(you only get the message when walking through in a specific direction)
*World specific +hax -hax +ophax(this feature is not functional yet, having trouble with it)
*Partial names(use commands like /kick player and not have to type out their full names)

Added 2 things to that list you quoted that i forgot to add.
As I said before, I have a set list of "Important features" I need implemented, once that entire list is complete, I will release the source to the DEV's of Hyvebuild, they will be able to choose what they want to add to their build of the server and then release it to you.
Currently we are aprox 40-50% through the list of features I need. Please be patient, good things will come :smile.gif:
First off, I like this server software, mainly for its many features and commands. Message blocks made my day.
However, I seem to cop ridiculous amounts of chat delay from it, and am constantly having issues with joining different maps/worlds.
Is there a way to fix this or have I done something wrong with the setup and installation of the various python things?

This approach makes it harder for people to merge in your code because the original tree changes while you cook your changes in a dark closet somewhere. It's your choice, of course. Have fun with your huge patch blob later on.

All new changes to hyvebuild will be incorporated into my version and it won't be a patch, the DEV's of hyvebuild have already expressed that they do not like most of my idea's, so I will let them decide which plugins/sections of code to move over. This is being built in a friendly manner so that it's easier to understand, edit, and move over, with lots of documentation.
@Grimshad: Why did you rename BLB instead of making an alias for it? I see that you're used to WoM but some people'd be used to Hyve, Archives, or another Myne variant and will be confused by the commands.
For example, at the top of the blb.py plugin, you can do this..
Sorry if this wasn't clarified, /blb is still usable, but fill was added to replace it.

@Grimshad (again): You fixed the relay bug? How? Also, making admins world-specific is craaazy. That way, there's no overall adminship and nobody to do the admin and staff tasks on the entire server.
The word relay is throwing me off?
The way ranks works is:
The "default" world's ranked members maintain their rank through all worlds. On top of that, each other world has those ranks as well, but anyone promoted in those worlds is only promoted in those worlds. In other words, The default worlds ranks are inherited by all other worlds, but all other worlds ranks do not go cross world. This way there are server ranks(admins). As well as ranks(admins) specific to each world. Do keep in mind this is only if thats what you want... this can be turned off.

I find it interesting how Grimshad is trying to make a more wom-like server. It makes me wonder why he doesn't get a copy of WoM's source and just modify that, really. The thing with history, and copypasta is that it will eventually fill your hard drive, and eat a lot more RAM. And RAM will eventually be filled unless one of you decided to write a memory handler in C++ for it.
Yes, I am adding lots of features the WoM server offers. WoM source is private and they are not willing to sell, I tired. I used to be an executive at WoM..
History prunes, it only stores the last 10 actions on a block, it will not fill HDD space. Copy/paste is saved to a file per person and is also autopruned, this takes up 5Mb per 1000 users currently. None of this is stored in ram.
On top of that, the server has 10TB of HDD space(for backups) with 128G of ram, and running on a 1000Mbit line up and down.

@ChronoSquare: I'll teach you python, if you want.
I wouldn't mind learning if the lessons are free :wink.gif:
P.S. I have just PMed the DEV's about merging our work and having us just work with them. I think it would be more beneficial for everybody.
I'll teach anyone who wants to listen really, just remember that as I don't know 100% about it all, I can't teach you 100% about it all :tongue.gif:
You said here:
[code]*Fixed major bug where the server received new block removal updates, but didn't send the updates to players resulting in people standing on air because in their game there was still a block right there.[code]
That's hitting us too, no idea how we might fix it :/
When I was talking about the impact to the HDD and so on, I wasn't talking about you specifically, I meant the end-user. Remember, if you're gonna collab with the devs, you need to think about the end-user too, not just your own, massive, PC. But, jw, why such a large dedi? And how much? xD
My server provides professional hosting solutions for minecrafters who don't have the hardware available to host for themselves, or would prefer all of the features we offer. after stress testing, we are capable of hosting 5000 worlds at once with up to 1 million players connected.
On your "End user" note.. The features I have added are for me to use, they weren't built for the end-user. However, if the end-user wants to use them, feel free.
The "relay" problem is isolated to players being promoted to world owners and nothing else, I'm not sure how it was fixed, I'll take a look at the notes later.
On the learning Python: I just thought I'de dabble if you were willing to teach. PM me with a messenger contact (any messenger will do.)

Yes. That is something I'd very much like to see get implemented; I'd love to be able to use that in our server.
