It's here. It's awesome. Best of all, it works. It is MyneCraft.
Based on the same software that the popular server "The Archives" uses, MyneCraft is simple, powerful, and best of all, free. With the same plugin system as Myne, you can't go wrong when trying to extend it.
Although there isn't much added yet, this just may be exactly what you are looking for. It has a great multi-world system, IRC bot integration, a .DAT -> MyneCraft level converter, awesome physics, portals, message blocks, and much more. Although setup is a bit tedious, it is all worth it in the end.
The level converter is now online. To check it out, go here.
MyneCraft is licensed with the GNU Affero General Public License. If you would like to download it, please check out the website here.
If you need support, you can post a ticket on our Assembla space (linked on the website), or you can join #mynecraft on EsperNet IRC.
Happy MyneCrafting, and sorry for the cheesy name. :ugeek:
Couldn't get the server to work at first and the cmd window would come up and close very quickly. Ended up getting a screen shot of it to see what it said: there was an error with the code by the plugins where you commented out something along the lines of "hopefully you can see how the syntax works". Removed those two lines and got it running fine. My only question now is how do I convert the maps? I read the readme where it said USING THE LEVEL CONVERTER then two examples of what to type. Where is this alleged level converter though?
Well, I got it to work and I must say, there are a LOT of features. However, I have a few questions. I can't seem to figure out how to convert maps. I also can't seem to figure out how to place finite water or lava (or can't you).
It would also be helpful if you added an extended readme detailing all the commands and their functions.
I really should remove the level converter and start an online service for it. It only works on UNIX-based systems. If you would like a level converted and I have time, PM me a copy of your map.
Undecieved, to place those, its either /build stilllava, or /build stillwater.

Well Done.

How is this any different from Myne?
It actually works, without any major overhaul.
To the contrary, it actually has the same issues as myne (players desyncing, taking forever to change worlds, etc.). I've been using myne for a while now and I tried mynecraft but I'm switching back. It looks like you did basically 3 things that could easily be done by any coder:
1. Added 2 new user ranks (superadmin and mod)
2. Changed color of msgblock text
3. Copied finite water code and altered it to use sand
Your "sand spout" didn't even work properly, I had to fix it myself. Oh, and while I'm on the topic of sand spouts, it would be a good idea to warn people that the giant pyramid made out of orange cloth on their server will spawn thousands of sand blocks and lag the server.
EDIT: Also, myne works on windows... all you have to do is change a few lines because windows doesn't support one of the os calls. After that it works fyne (heh).
We didnt add the sandspout. Plus, this is almost the exact same version as the Archives version. They gave us their software, and I stripped it down and stuff. Mod was already in there. We haven't done much yet, you are right. Just dont make false claims when you don't know what you are talking about. You are right about it, part way. Oh, and sand spouts only work if they have physics on, as well as finite water.
Its a lot different than Myne. Get your facts straight. Run both of them through WinDiff, and tell me how that goes.
Can I get a good tutorial on how to install simplejson.
I tried. Many times.
Did you install the correct version of Python (2.6.x)? In addition to that you need to make sure that you have SetupTools installed before hand. After SetupTools is installed open the .egg file for SimpleJSON with the easy_install.exe in your Python folder.

I'm having the same problem as will. I have Python 2.6.4, and I've had it for months since I started using cMss, but SetupTools refuses to install. It keeps telling me I need Python 2.6.4 installed. "Python version 2.6 required, which was not found in the registry." I've found instances of Python's files in both the root of C:\ (where Python is actually installed), and system32, which I'm assuming is the registry. If not, please do let me know.
Also, on a semi-related note: The link in the readme to Python-Twisted is dead. http://twistedmatrix.org/
The registry is a collection of settings and other tidbits that windows uses to operate and boot up. Python may not have written it's settings into the registry properly.

Hello there. I made a mod that adds a block that breaks into other stuff.
The registry is a collection of settings and other tidbits that windows uses to operate and boot up. Python may not have written it's settings into the registry properly.
Okay, that makes a bit of sense. So I tried re-installing Python 2.6.4 to see if it would work then. It didn't. Is there any chance that it has something to do with the fact I'm on a 64 bit operating system? (Win7)

Unlike Myne, MyneCraft completely supports Windows. Completely.

Extract the zip you get from the converter to your worlds folder, or desktop and just drag the folder you get from extracting to your worlds folder.

Hello there. I made a mod that adds a block that breaks into other stuff.
Just remove that line from the config file. While I didn't have the other errors you're showing that is all I did to get it to work.

It's towards the end of the server.cfg file before the area the plugins are listed. Same folder as the run.py file.

It works perfectly on my Windows 7 x64
